North Star Adventures is 100% Aboriginal owned.

What is cultural?

What is cultural tourism?

As a guest of North Star Adventures, you will experience Yellowknife from the Aboriginal perspective.

Whether you choose our Snowmobile Tour in the winter or one of our Boat Tours  in the summer we can provide you with a true, genuine Aboriginal experience.

We are proud of our heritage and culture and we are happy to share this with you.

The owner (Joe) considers himself very honoured and very fortunate to have been raised by his grandparents. In doing so, Joe was taught the valuable lessons of respecting the culture, respecting the land, respecting each other and respecting yourself.

When it comes to our culture, there are many out there that push elements of our culture purely for commercial reasons and as a result certain items can become synthetic, look fake or activities are not done properly. These practices are not the true respresentation of our Dene culture.

At North Star Adventures we feel it is encumbent upon us to ensure that our Dene cultural traditions are done in a manner that respects the true essence of our culture and honours our grandfathers and grandmothers that have gone before us.
