City Tours

Welcome to Yellowknife!

Our city tour focuses on the local Aboriginal community within Yellowknife. We talk about our history, tour our villages and you will learn how we face today’s challenges and still continue to try and lead a traditional lifestyle in the modern world. We will talk about the struggle to keep our languages alive, of going out on the land to hunt and trap. You will learn about our history and how the recent diamond mine boom has impacted our lives.

On this tour we visit our village (N’Dilo), visit historic sites in oldtown Yellowknife, Ragged Ass Road, out to Buffalo Airways then drive on the ice road out to our main village (Dettah) 11kms away! We also stop at the oldest store in Yellowknife Weavers & Devore and along the way, we point out some good restaurants to eat.

If we have the time, we end the tour with a visit to the world famous Tim Horton’s for a hot drink. We offer a pick you up and drop service from all hotels or B&Bs free of charge.
